Jorge and Pablo left their families back home in Venezuela in search of a better life.

 

They knew they wanted to come to New York City because it’s the land of opportunity, but little did they know the struggles they would soon face.

 

Since getting here, they have not been able to get their request for asylum heard, have not yet received work authorization, and have struggled to find a stable place to live.
